Probation Reform
In 2022, CJJ launched a Probation Learning Network, which included State Advisory Group (SAG) members from Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., to explore ways that SAGs can assist with probation reform in their jurisdictions. This network resulted in the release of “Probation Reform: A Toolkit For State Advisory Groups,” funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
To further build on this work, CJJ launched an accompanying training series and in-person learning opportunity at Annie E. Casey’s headquarters in Baltimore, MD. During this training, participants had the chance to set strategic goals for their state or territory and identify ways they can use their three-year plan to support and implement probation reform.
Cohort II of this project will launch in 2025. More information coming soon.
