As part of the Safety, Opportunity and Success (SOS) Project, CJJ has conducted trainings, garnered extensive media coverage, and created a number of publications that are related to status offenses. Many of these were released as a follow up to the National Standards for the Care of Youth Charged with Status Offenses, which is a set of concrete policy and practice recommendations for avoiding or limiting court involvement for youth charged with non-delinquent offenses.
