CJJ SUPPORTS "JJDPA STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES"

By a majority vote, the CJJ Board of Directors, as convened in March in Minnesota, has accepted a motion from the National Steering Committee and Government Relations Committee and has voted to sign-on to the "JJDPA Statement of Principles" for its delivery to members of Congress.

The "Statement of Principles" is a consensus document created by "Act 4 Juvenile Justice," a campaign of the National Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Coalition. CJJ is pleased to serve—through staff and CJJ Government Relations Committee (GRC) involvement—as a leader in the Act 4 Juvenile Justice effort.

JJDPA Statement of Principles

Among the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and the more than 250 national and state/local organizations who have signed the Statement are individual State Advisory Groups (SAGs) in Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, Tennessee, Utah and Vermont.
